Leicester Interested in Cole
Leicester City are reportedly interested in signing former Chelsea and West Ham striker Carlton Cole on a free transfer after he was released by the Hammers in the summer. The experienced striker played under new Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri at Chelsea and would be keen on remaining in the Premier League.
The 31 year old striker would add experience to the Foxes squad but there is competition for the signature of Cole with fellow Premier League clubs Aston Villa, West Brom and Norwich all keeping their options open on Cole.
Tisserand Linked with Foxes
Another player linked with Leicester is Monaco defender Marcel Tisserand who is said to be keen to link back up with former manager Claudio Ranieri at the King Power Stadium. The Express have reported that Tisserand is already in talks with the club, with his agent seemingly confirming this.
The 22 year old defender was a key member of Ranieri’s squad at the principality club and is keen on a move to England, however Monaco are reluctant to let the youngster go, despite confirming that he will only be back-up for the Ligue 1 side next season.
Cambiasso still holding out
Despite reports suggesting Esteban Cambiasso had signed a new contract with the club, his agent has confirmed that the news is indeed premature and that no new deal has yet been signed by the Argentine.
Cambiasso was Leicester’s player of the year last season as he helped the Foxes avoid relegation and there was hope that he would sign a new one year deal. The sacking of manager Nigel Pearson last month however, put the deal on hold with reports suggesting Cambiasso was holding out to see who the new manager was.
Ranieri was Cambiasso’s manager at Inter Milan and there was hope from Foxes fans that the appointment of the Italian would convince him to stay on for another year after proving vital to the Leicester cause.
Slimani Linked with City
Leicester are one of a number of teams that are reportedly tracking Sporting Lisbon striker Islam Slimani who is keen on a move to England. Premier League clubs Newcastle United, West Brom and West Ham are thought to be in direct competition with the Foxes for the Algerian international who is said to be available for around £7 million.
