After another highly successful season last season for Leicester City, much of the squad have already returned to pre-season training in preparation of the 2021/22 Premier League season. Despite just missing out of a Champions League spot the team finished in a more than respectable 5th position in the Premier League, qualifying for the Europe League again. There was also a decent run in the Europa League but for the first time in the clubs history, Leicester City won the FA Cup. So all in all, most fans would have taken that at the start of the season and look at it as a success.
What does the future hold for the team though, and what will the 2021/22 season bring? We’ve decided to put our thoughts down and write a Leicester City 2021/22 Season Betting Preview, lets just hope we are right. Although a few of the more senior players left such as Wes Morgan (retired), Christian Fuchs (contract not extended) and Matty James (contract not extended) so far the club has held on to all the big names, and despite some transfer rumours the club doesn’t seem to have received any firm offers either, which is an excellent sign.
On the transfer in news there has already been plenty of activity with Leicester City signing 3 players including the latest signature of Ryan Bertrand on a free transfer after being released by Southampton. This follows the 2 previous signings of Soumare from Lille, and striker Daka from Red Bull Salzburg. With the transfer rumour mill still in overdrive don’t be surprised to see one or two more signings still to come in, with fans keeping a keen on on whether the Philippe Coutinho rumours pick up any pace. You can actually get currently 8/1 for him to join Leicester City in this transfer window with Sky Bet so that might be worth a little bet.
When it comes to the betting for the Leicester City 2021/21 Premier League season there are some really interesting betting markets. Obviously the first competition we’ll look at is the Premier League, as that is where most of the action will be. To us, it still does look like a task a little bit too far to win the title this coming season but we are hoping for improvement from last seasons 5th spot. In the betting the best betting odds for Leicester to win the league is 79/1 with new bookie SBK. We’d look at the 9/2 for a top 4 finish, available with a few bookmakers including Bet365 and William Hill. If you don’t have accounts with any of these we recommend you visit a free bet website such as Free Bets UK to get some free betting offers to make your betting stretch further. If you fancy a bit of funny as well and the chance of bragging right you can pick up odds of 4/7 for Leicester City to be the high finishing Midlands club with Betfred.
In the terms of silverware then the League Cup is probably the one we’ll have least interest on and will most likely be a competition we see more of the squad players take part. In fact not many bookies have even bothered chalking up odds for the winner of the EFL Cup yet but BetVictor are offering 14/1 for Leicester to win it. Maybe it could be worth an each way bet but it isn’t one we’d be looking at.
Could we retain our FA Cup crown though next season? Well, of course we could, but we do think it’s a little unlikely however 14/1 with many bookmakers may tempt a few. Hopefully we’re proved wrong but maybe it’s too much to go 2 seasons unbeaten in a competeition.
Unfortunately if you want to bet on the Europa League you will have to wait a little bit as the bookies will be waiting for the qualifying rounds to be complete before they make any betting markets up. We do expect a good run in this competition though and are hoping we can go a lot further than last seasons effort.
Whatever happens though we do expect another action packed and exciting season with plenty of twists and turns as well as ups and downs. We will say that if you are betting on any of our tips, or betting in general, please gamble responsibly and stay within your limits and keep it all fun. We hope you’ve enjoyed this Leicester City 2021/22 Season Betting Preview and enjoy the coming season, and if you do bet, good luck.
