Leicester City fans are finally set to have their wish for a striker granted; a move the East Midlands club truly need after a void opened up in attack not long ago. Patson Daka and Jordan Ayew, the pair of unsatisfactory senior strikers previously on the books, left when their contracts expired; the Blue Army faithful were pleased to see both go, even if Daka was a likeable figure. First of all, Ayew was a dreadful idea of a signing and an awful acquisition in actuality. One who performed terribly overall for LCFC during his time at King Power Stadium; to give the Ghanaian Jamie Vardy's shirt number was a disgrace! Secondly, Daka, who spent quite a few years with the club, never truly found his scoring boots. The Zambian managed just one hat-trick, with a four-goal haul many seasons ago, and a couple of important goals last term; he should have achieved far more, especially while the Foxes were in the Championship. Now that Kirsten Otchere is out on loan and seen as too young to be the main man, Nathan Opoku stands as the only senior centre-forward at the club right now. Fans had hoped to see Dom Ballard arrive, but he went elsewhere, while Lorent Tolaj also joined Bristol City, leaving both options and time quickly running out.
